Coming up on 1 1/2 hours

Music: hah!
Mood: left ear starting to hurt

It seems that the female journos ask the more fluffy questions so far. The first woman asked me to tell her about the meaning of each song, about the missing lyrics she says. That probably means she has not heard the album and probably knows nothing about me. I told her that the reason I make instrumental music is because I do not like lyrics…..

Now I am doing a style interview, to cover the more humane, eh, he means human side. What are you passionate about? Do you like to cook? Do you have a second home, like a beach house? This must be what it’s like to talk to People or US.

Coming up on two hours…

This last interview is the hardest. I have to leave some questions un-answered: What are your finest qualities, and your worst? I don’t know. Here comes the last question: What is your deepest desire? Well, that one is easy….

One hour and fifty minutes.

still: BMF – Beats Moving Furniture.

The end.

How/why do they find someone to interview you that doesn’t know you or your music. It might be fun to tell a great story of what each song is about…you know this guy goes walking in the woods and meets this frog, etc. But the trouble is , sounds like the kind of person who would take it all seriously. And you might have said, “What no lyrics!!? I’ve been robbed! but that would be about the same deal.
It makes me so thankful that your music is without stopping places like lyrics, so the depth and breadth and feeling can go on forever and always be fresh and new and just what is right for one every time it’s played …no matter which album it comes from. That in itself is a miracle.
    I love your honesty, Ottmar.

And as for what is your favorite…what is your____est?…. those are so limiting. I have tried to spread that word to other teachers for years “What is your favorite color? has to mean the others are lesser. Just ask what color they would like to use right now or something…Who is your favorite fan, Ottmar? Don’t answer that. The rest of us don’t want to be excluded : )

Are these journos really dumb? They should at least do a little bit of research/homework prior to the interview!
I thought that the interview questions would be directly related to music!

I hope the ear has rested and it was only the telephone that agitated it! Take care and rest a lot, we want you well, while touring…:-)))
