Santa Fe

Greetings from the back of the tourbus, on the way to Santa Barbara.

I am told that Santa Fe CDs have been spotted at some Target stores, but may not have reached all Target stores yet.

Wednesday in Tucson

115º in Phoenix yesterday. Morning coffee with Matt, until the infamous Phoenix misters started up and we left the cafe.

During the performance I played the electric guitar and had fun with it. Did I play the strat in 2009 at all? I seem to remember that I last used it during the Summer tour of 2008. Band sounded very good. Houman played a nice tonbak solo at the end of “Snakecharmer”.

Today we are in Tucson.

From my mobile phone visual diary.

Jon and I spent more than two hours in the Shot in the Dark Cafe, drinking coffee, talking, and listening to Bob Marley. I think if the cafe had played radio at that volume I would have left after a few minutes, but reggae sounded fantastic. Finished reading “Soul Mining” by Daniel Lanois this morning. Inspiring book.

Denver Sunday

Band sounded good last night. Very happy with the progress we have made. We played for three hours (two shows) and didn’t get to our hotel until 01:30. Now we have today and most of Monday to reflect on the performance and in my case, to work on my electric guitar setup. Only got the repaired guitar back late Friday afternoon and did not want to play it at the Soiled Dove since I literally had not touched it since 2008 or 2009.

Since the MobileMe iDisk, which I use for streaming and downloading music files in this Journal, and the Gallery will unfortunately be discontinued by Apple, I have been looking for replacements. Maybe SoundCloud will work. Still trying to figure out the HTML5 version of their widget, but in the meantime here is the Flash version of the Widget.

The first track is the new Barcelona Nights 2011 (from Santa Fe), and the second track is the old Barcelona Nights 2003 (from The Santa Fe Sessions):
