Weekly Words of Wisdom
The mind is malleable. Our life can be greatly transformed by even a minimal change in how we manage our thoughts and perceive and interpret the world. Happiness is a skill. It requires effort and time.
~ Venerable Matthieu Ricard

Happiness is indeed a skill… and apropos happiness I found this interview on the Colbert Report and this TED talk by Robert Thurman.

I totally agree with this one. Happiness is a skill which can be acquired and achieved by the mind, only if we allow the mind to do so. In other words the saying ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ can apply here.

I look at me and I look at others around as much as I can, and I feel so fortunate, because, you know? I am a very happy person most of the time. I have learned to enjoy so many things vicariously, and just the joy of being alive in a wonderful world. I thank you, Ottmar, my family and all the others who have helped me be who I am.
