A picture named Roseburg1.jpg

The concert series in Roseberg, Oregon, is free to the public and people come out early in the morning and claim their spot by putting a blanket down on the lawn before going to work.

I have used these same EJ45C strings, and liked them alot...they do seem to last longer. I am currently trying their new EJ46LP composite strings that are lightly polished silverplated. Have you ever tried the new version, and if so what were your impressions? - Greg Hale • 7/7/04; 11:15:29 AM
Yes, I played them a while back. I was one of the guitarists who were asked to try the prototype polished strings in 1999 or 2000 or thereabouts, which by the way were created for John Williams. Classical guitarists hate any squeeks that might come from moving the fingers of the left hand. I decided against the polished strings for two reasons:

1. The polished strings are less bright than the regular set
2. I don't mind the squeeks
I used to be a dedicated Augustine fan, since he is 'the' man when it comes to classical guitar strings, but over time, it seems the sound and quality has changed for the 'not so better'. - David • 7/8/04; 12:44:09 PM
Hm, yes, I was using Savarez and Augustine until 1989. Three of one kind in the treble and three of the others for the basses, I don't remember which was where...
I think my G is too thick, maybe too bassy...is one G different than another in this regard? I'll just have to play, I guess ;) - Adam Solomon • 7/8/04; 1:21:01 PM
You might like the Composite sets from D'Addario then. The brown composite G-string is thinner and IMO better in tune than the thicker regular nylon string.

I saw some photos of the clothing and bags made by Haeftling (Inmate or Prisoner in German), and they are pretty cool. I like the German word Knastmode, meaning Jailwear.
